HUMANS OF RAS: CHENDA DY

A smiley face, an exciting way of speaking, and full of optimism, while sitting in the ULS Gallery located in the center of Rose Apple Square, that is Chenda Dy, our Home Advisor.

Growing up in Tuek Vil, a rural part of Siem Reap, educated at a nonprofit school and raised by a single mom with five children. She earned a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hospitality from Build Bright University through her own hard work. Then she ended up working as a Beauty Advisor in a duty-free zone. Chenda never thought she would become someone who works in real estate.

“In 2022, for the first time, I rode a motorbike across Sok San Road and saw a big, modern building being constructed in Siem Reap, which made me feel very happy because it was the first condo project in the city, and that made me want to work there.”

Since joining the RAS community, she has found it a very warm place to live and work. Residents, guests, office workers, and team members are very open and helpful with one another. Not only does she have a manager who guides her, but she also has people in the community, like Mr. Dominique, a homeowner who always offers her guidance and cheers her up.

One thing that excites Chenda most is when she managed to sell out homes. That's not only because she earns a commission, but also because it means she has made her team happy while helping customers (now homeowners) find where they belong in Siem Reap.

Outside her ULS uniform, Siem Reap locals know Chenda as a singer and content creator who actively promotes the city through food, entertainment events, and provincial-level collaborations to showcase the best of Siem Reap.

After eight hours of work, and sometimes extra hours spent singing, Chenda loves going home to see her mom.

“I love seeing my mom smile. That's the best thing that happens during my day.”

If you cannot find Chenda at work or at home, you can expect her to be camping in the mountains. Her go-to spot is the renowned Kulen Mountain. Other than that, you might bump into her at a local café wearing a pretty blouse or a cropped top.

Every time we talk to or about Chenda, there's always something surprising that comes up. She's good at hospitality, teamwork, and collaboration, and at smartphone videography, she has a beautiful singing voice like Meas Soksophea's, but not many people know that she was the winner of a swimming competition.

“It was a small competition at a hotel I used to work for. Foreign guests staying at the hotel also joined. Among all of them, I came in first place.” Chenda added,

“If people look at me from the outside, like this, no one will guess I can swim, but I'm very good at it.”

By “like this,” Chenda meant her soft and feminine appearance.

At ULS Cambodia and Rose Apple Square, we believe our community is stronger because of its diversity. Chenda reminds us that the most successful people are those who show up as their full, authentic selves. We are very happy to have Chenda on our team. Her energy truly brightens our community.
